Hermès has been at 21 Highland Park Village, and by the reported plan, this December is its last holiday season at that address. Louis Vuitton is scheduled to open in that same space after Hermès moves into a new, expanded boutique in early 2027, People Newspapers reported on Oct. 2.
So when the Village holds its Christmas Lights Celebration and Shopping Stroll on Wednesday, Dec. 9, the evening walk goes past a set of storefronts that will look different by next December. Several moves are now underway at the Mockingbird Lane and Preston Road center. Taken in order, they make a useful map for this season's shopping.
A chain of moves that starts at 21
Last year the Village's holiday story was a single opening. Miu Miu opened in December 2025 with a store of about 3,800 square feet, one of fewer than a dozen of its kind in the country, according to The Dallas Morning News.
This year the Village announced three luxury names at once, along with a relocation that sets off a fourth change. Stephen Summers, CEO of Summers Group, called the new arrivals "global icons" in a statement to The Dallas Morning News on Oct. 1. Here is how the pieces line up by address:
- Bvlgari, 44A Highland Park Village. The Italian jeweler announced 44A as its only North Texas location.
- Gucci, 100 Highland Park Village, Suite 105. The Italian label is slated for that suite.
- Hermès, to a new, expanded boutique. People Newspapers reported the move for early 2027.
- Louis Vuitton, 21 Highland Park Village. The French house opens in the current Hermès space once Hermès moves out.
The order matters because of how the moves depend on each other. Louis Vuitton's opening at 21 depends on Hermès moving out, and Hermès moves on its own early-2027 timeline. That makes 21 Highland Park Village the one storefront on the property where the 2026 holiday window is the last one under its current name.
These names join the Village's existing lineup, which The Dallas Morning News lists as including Carolina Herrera, Chanel and Dior. In its April coverage, the paper also named Brunello Cucinelli and Fendi. A year ago, a single new boutique was the holiday headline. This year's lights night lands while four of the biggest names on the property are being placed or moved.
The work is concentrated near Mockingbird and Douglas
The store moves come alongside construction spending. In April, The Dallas Morning News reported that the Village was spending roughly $11 million on projects slated to begin this year, based on filings with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
Both filings point to the same corner:
- D40: a project of about $6 million, near Mockingbird Lane and Douglas Avenue.
- C34: a project of about $5 million, also near that intersection.
The paper noted that details in state filings are preliminary and can change. The location is still useful to know. Mockingbird and Douglas is the corner most Highland Park residents reach first when they walk or drive in from the neighborhood side, so that edge of the Village is where most of the $11 million is directed.
December 9, from 4 to 7 p.m.
All of this sets the scene for the Village's one big holiday evening. The Christmas Lights Celebration and Shopping Stroll is Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2026, from 4 to 7 p.m., listed at 47 Highland Park Village.
According to the event listing, the evening includes:
- Strolling Christmas carolers and musical acts
- Face painting and balloon art
- Kids' crafts with Camp Crafty
- Family photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus
- Promotions, holiday treats, gifts with purchase and in-store experiences at select boutiques
- More than 1.5 million Christmas lights across the center
Two charities are part of the evening. The Salvation Army Women's Auxiliary will collect donations with its bell ringers, and Community Partners of Dallas will host a holiday toy drive. Bring an unwrapped gift and a few bills along with your shopping list.
The timing is worth noting. The event falls on a Wednesday and starts at 4 p.m., which is before many workdays end. In 2024 the stroll also ran on a Wednesday, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the same 47 Highland Park Village address, according to the Village's announcement that year. The format has stayed the same, and the storefronts are what changes. Families with school-age kids can plan on an after-school visit. Anyone coming from an office downtown will catch the last hour or so.
The Village's night sits inside a Park Cities holiday calendar
The Village's evening is one of three Park Cities lighting traditions held around the start of December.
| Event | Date and time | Location |
|---|---|---|
| University Park Holiday Tree Lighting | Sunday, Nov. 29, 2026, 3 to 7 p.m. | Centennial Park, formerly Goar Park, 3800 University Blvd. |
| Highland Park Village Christmas Lights Celebration and Shopping Stroll | Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2026, 4 to 7 p.m. | 47 Highland Park Village |
| Town of Highland Park tree lighting | Held Dec. 4 last year, 6 to 8 p.m. | Landmark Pecan Tree, 4202 Armstrong Parkway |
University Park's event comes first, on the Sunday after Thanksgiving. The city's calendar lists it at the park now called Centennial, formerly Goar Park. If you've known the spot by its old name for years, it's the same address at 3800 University Boulevard. Last year, Snider Plaza's listing for its Nov. 30 tree lighting said it was hosted by University Park and the Rotary Club of Park Cities and included Santa photos. For more on how that district has changed this year, see our post on Snider Plaza's finished construction.
The Town of Highland Park holds its own lighting at the Landmark Pecan Tree on Armstrong Parkway. Last year's event on Dec. 4 included Santa and Mrs. Claus, holiday activities and a toy drive, according to the Town's calendar. The Town posts each year's date on that calendar.
University Park's Nov. 29 lighting and the Village's Dec. 9 stroll fall ten days apart, and the Town's lighting landed between those two dates last year.
What next December's walk will pass
If the reported plans hold, the addresses will read differently by next December. Louis Vuitton will be at 21 Highland Park Village. Hermès will be in its expanded boutique. Gucci will be at 100 Highland Park Village, Suite 105, and Bvlgari at 44A. Projects near Mockingbird Lane and Douglas Avenue were filed to begin in 2026.
That makes the Dec. 9 stroll a good time to see the current layout once more. Start at 21 Highland Park Village while Hermès is still there. Pass 44A, Bvlgari's first North Texas address. Then end at the Mockingbird and Douglas corner, where the filed renovation work is concentrated. All three stops fit within the evening's three hours.

Kevin and Stacey Hunter have watched the Village change one storefront at a time for years. They're always glad to talk about what that means for the blocks around it. If you'd like to compare notes on how the Mockingbird side is changing, Hunter Realty Group would love to meet you for coffee before or after the Dec. 9 stroll.
